Care support skills are the foundation for excellent care practice. It promotes equality and diversity for the service user and colleagues and honours the lifestyle, religion and culture of all human beings.

This program in essence maps with the FETAC level 5 Care Support Module.

Workshops: 4 ½ full days

Content:

Malignant social psychology
Psychological needs for every human being
Equality and diversity
Person centred care
Independence and dependence in care practice
Care planning
Safe guarding service users – Protection of vulnerable adults
The role and responsibilities of the professional worker
The personal strengths of the professional worker and the client
Working with others through the process of team work
Supervision and mentorship
Continual professional and personal development through reflective practice

Each topic:  3 hours

Even though it is recommended that social care providers utilise the whole programme, as this will enhance skill, knowledge, practice, attitude and marketing, some organisations may prefer a personal training programme that is linked to service knowledge gaps which are shown in their training needs analysis. The programme is open to all employee members.
